Do you dream of a Bed and Breakfast in sunny Spain and are you looking for something special that will set you apart from the rest? Then we have found your dream home here.
We find the property on the outskirts of Galera, a small and quiet village in the province of Granada, only an hour and a half away from the world famous Alhambra. It is a beautiful building, built against the rock. This has created a very tasteful combination of a Spanish farmhouse and a cave house. When we arrive at the house, the good state of maintenance is striking. However, the view of the building does not yet reveal what we will see inside.
Let´s take a look inside. Immediately upon entering, we enter a different world. We enter an open gallery with beautifully carved marble pillars. There is a fountain in the middle of the gallery surrounded by cosy seats where your guests can have breakfast or a cup of coffee. In one of the walls there is also a fountain so that the sound of splashing water can be heard all around you. The open atmosphere of this room is reinforced by the void that connects it to the upper floor, and is emphasised by the mirror wall that gives the whole a grotesque appearance.
Walking through the gallery to the right, we arrive at a dining-sitting area and the fully equipped kitchen. Furthermore, here we come to the first bedrooms and bathrooms. These atmospheric rooms are carved out of the cave, which is typical of the region where the house is located. The coarse structure of the walls and the ceilings create an atmosphere that you will not find in any other type of house. The lit windows, decorated with flowers, complete the picture.
When we follow the stairs upstairs, we arrive at the mezzanine. Here we can look out over the gallery and see how much attention has been paid to the smallest details. The owner of this property is clearly inspired by the Alhambra, the world-famous Moorish building in Granada.
This property has a total of seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. All are spacious, beautifully decorated and very well maintained. One of them could easily be converted into your own private flat, opening onto the large roof terrace from where you have unobstructed views over the fields that surround the village. Can you imagine sitting here with a nice glass of wine in your hand, enjoying the sunset and the clear starry sky? That is the real life.
