Just a stone´s throw from Velez-Rubio and Velez-Blanco, just across the border from Murcia in the campo of Lorca, you will go back in time and be taken into the life of the olive farmers of yesteryear.
Standing in front of this authentic property, your curiosity becomes too great to see what is going on inside. You enter through a stately hall, you just feel that the tooth has left its mark here at the time. But in spite of this, you feel immediately, this is where the life of an authentic olive farmer and his family took place.
A little further down the hallway we see on the left a beautiful spacious living room with the large master bedroom adjoining. Back in the hallway we cross straight across and we see the second bedroom. At the end of the corridor we have the old kitchen on the left we find a pantry with built-in cupboards and a space under the stairs where the hams and chorizo´s were kept.
Back to the kitchen we go from the main kitchen to the pantry. This space is also furnished as a complete kitchen. But also here the tooth has struck. But honestly, constructively, all these rooms are in perfect condition, after all, they have been there for more than a hundred years. And with the right love it will last another hundred years.
From the pantry we enter the old olive press / wine press through a corridor. When the grape season was over, the press was used for pressing grapes. The son of the olive oil farmer proudly tells us, here the grapes were pressed barefoot by women, and the grape juice ran through an ingenious system in the underlying storey in the storage barrels. At the storage barrels of the grape juice we find a deep well, and yes, this well is in excellent condition and provides you with the purest spring water you can think of.
A little later we enter the olive press, unfortunately the roof has suffered some damage here, but certainly repairable. The machinery from the 20´s is still there in full glory, proudly reports the son, with a little love this can be made to work again. After the complete explanation of the unique machinery, which is still complete, we go to the accompanying grounds of no less than 10,000 square meters. On this terrain we find another stable/animal shelter that was built in the 80´s, and has a floor area of more than 200 square meters.
After this tour we come to the conclusion that the price is actually very little for what you buy. With love and the right investment you can turn this into a nice Bed Breakfast, the stable can be converted into at least 3 flats, the upper floor of the stately house also has four large rooms that you can perfectly convert into guest houses. And do you already see your guests having breakfast in the old restored press room?
